Aspen will see trail closures and detours during the week

Aspen’s Parks Department will be performing several maintenance projects this week resulting in the following trail closures and detours:

Marolt Trail, Thursday and Friday — Portions of the Marolt Trail through the Marolt Housing complex and the section between Highway 82 and the Marolt pedestrian bridge will be closed for routine asphalt resurfacing. Staff will mark detours around closures, though some detours will be on gravel surfaces.

Midland Trail, Monday through Thursday — The portion of the Midland Trail between Fourth and Third streets will be closed for trail resurfacing. Detours will connect the West Hopkins bike and pedestrian route with other side streets.

ABC Trail, Monday through Wednesday — The portion of the ABC trail in front of the new Mountain Rescue Aspen building will be closed for the installation of new concrete trail sections and storm curbs along Highway 82. Marked trail detours will be in place through the new Mountain Rescue Aspen parking lot east of the current trail alignment.
