Aspen Valley Hospital to hold blood drive Tuesday, Dec. 22

Aspen Valley Hospital will host a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, in a mobile blood donor van in the hospital parking lot.

Giving a pint of blood takes 30 to 40 minutes, and no appointment is necessary. Donors must bring photo ID, be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health (no infections or colds). It is recommended that donors drink plenty of fluids the day before, and eat a normal meal four to six hours prior to donating. Donors of all blood types are needed.

The blood drive is held in conjunction with St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center. For more information, call the Donor Center at St. Mary’s Hospital at 970-244-2555.
