Aspen Valley Hospital racks up awards

Aspen Valley Hospital received 20 different awards at the 17th Annual HealthCare Service Excellence Conference hosted by Custom Learning Systems last month in Long Beach, California.

Nineteen Summit Awards (the highest achievement) were given, with two of them going to AVH, which was named 2016 “Hospital Provider of Choice,” while its HOT.COMM (honest, open, two-way communication) team also received a Summit Award.

In addition, LeAnne Evans was named “Exceptional Employee.” Evans is a central sterile technician and has worked at the hospital for six years.

The hospital also received a number of awards for patient satisfaction scores related to the hospital environment, pain management, emergency care, inpatient services, physician care, communications, responsiveness of staff, care transitions, and willingness to recommend. A five-star rating for patient satisfaction from Medicare was also acknowledged, the hospital said.

“The awards are a reflection of our staff’s total commitment to service excellence,” said AVH CEO Dave Ressler. “We’re always striving to be better, and we’re pleased to be recognized by an outside agency dedicated to improving the patient experience.”
