Aspen turf lead-free
Dear Editor:
Thank you for your story about lead that has been found in some brands of artificial turf (The Aspen Times, “Too much lead in turf?” June 24).
The city of Aspen wants to let parents know that the artificial turf at the schools is safe. The turf at the school track was installed and is maintained by the city of Aspen. It is not the type of turf material that has been found to contain lead. To be doubly certain, the city Environmental Health and Parks Departments had the turf tested, and it came back with a clean bill of health.
