ASPEN ” A public meeting discussing proposed trail improvements for the Castle Creek underpass and Bugsy-Marolt Trail is scheduled Tuesday.

The meeting will focus on changes to the Bugsy-Marolt Trail intended to enhance safety under the Castle Creek vehicular bridge and across Cemetery Lane.

The city of Aspen Parks Department has worked with a consulting engineer and the city’s Open Space and Trails Board to develop a conceptual plan for trail improvements along sections of public trail under the Castle Creek bridge and adjacent to Bugsy Barnard Park.

City staffers will explain the plan for trail improvements and answer questions from the public at the meeting, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Rio Grande Commons, 455 Rio Grande Place (the former Youth Center above Taster’s restaurant). Light refreshments will be served.
