Aspen to hold Bike to Work Day
Bike to Work Day is set for Wednesday.
Those who bike into Aspen can stop at Paepcke or Barnard parks between 7 and 10 a.m. for free food and gifts. Four Mountain Sports will offer bike safety checks at Paepcke Park. Those wearing helmets will get a gift.
Drawings will be held for bike gear, gift certificates, bus passes and WE-cycle season passes. Grand prizes include two three-day general admission passes to this weekend’s Jazz Aspen Snowmass festival.
Sponsors include the city’s Transportation Department, Four Mountain Sports, Colorado Mountain College, Aspen Valley Hospital and WE-cycle.

COVID scofflaws beware: Cops bringing out the stick in upper valley
In an effort to try and combat the highest COVID-19 incidence rate in the state, law enforcement officials in Pitkin County said Thursday they will introduce a stick to what has previously been a carrot-based approach to public health order enforcement.
