Aspen summer flight schedules announced
Delta will offer new flights into Aspen this summer with daily nonstop flights from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, Aspen-Pitkin County Airport announced Wednesday.
The seasonal service begins June 10, with the flights from Los Angeles continuing through Aug. 30. The Salt Lake City flights run through Sept. 4.
Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines will operate the flights into Aspen using two-class, 70-seat CRJ-700 jets.
“This reintroduction of summer flights by Delta for the first time in nearly a decade will open up many new travel options for locals and visitors alike,” Aspen-Pitkin County Airport Director John Kinney said in a statement.
Commercial flights also will be offered by American and United this summer and into the fall.
American’s summer service from Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago/O’Hare and Los Angeles resumes June 2. The LA flights will run through Sept. 2; the Dallas and Chicago service will operate through Oct. 4.
United’s nonstop summer flights from Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco are scheduled to resume June 8. Houston and San Francisco flights will go through Sept. 4, while United’s service from Los Angeles is scheduled to continue through Oct. 3, and United’s service from Chicago runs through Oct. 27. United also flies from Denver year-round with as many as eight flights daily during the summer.
