Aspen street work begins Tuesday

The city’s 2016 Street Improvement Project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 6 and continue through Sept. 21. The project includes roto milling and paving a number of city streets.

“This work must be done to make sure that Aspen’s streets remain safe and viable,” said Jerry Nye, superintendent of the city of Aspen’s Street Department.

Although one lane will typically be available during construction, motorists can expect detours at busy cross streets. The construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. For a complete schedule, visit and select Road Paving Schedule.
