Aspen Sports raises money for Mountain Rescue Aspen

ASPEN – Aspen Sports, through the holiday Adopt-A-Cause fundraiser, raised almost $14,000 for Mountain Rescue Aspen. Through the month of December and into 2013, the 16 Aspen and Snowmass stores raised $13,927, including a match by Vail Resorts, which owns Aspen Sports and other retail locations. VR Echo, the company’s sustainability program, matched 50 cents for every dollar donated.

“Mountain Rescue Aspen is very grateful to be chosen as a recipient by Aspen Sports for the Adopt-a-Cause campaign,” said Hugh Zuker, president of Mountain Rescue Aspen. “Our team has no tax base and relies on grants and donations for our operating and capital needs. We appreciate the efforts of Aspen Sports, SSV and Vail Resorts to support people who help other people in the mountains.”
