Aspen snow report: the big zilch
Aspen, CO Colorado
ASPEN ” The forecast wasn’t calling for a lot of snow in Aspen/Snowmass on Thursday; instead, local slopes didn’t get any.
The National Weather Service predicted 4 inches tops on Wednesday night and Thursday in the Aspen area, but for the second day in a row on Friday, the Aspen Skiing Co. posted zeros in its morning snow report. So did plenty of other ski resorts in western Colorado.
Steamboat, on the other hand, reported 7 inches of new snow over the past 24 hours as of early Friday. Winter Park picked up 4.5 inches, Loveland reported 3 inches and Arapahoe Basin picked up a couple of fresh inches. Keystone got 1 inch.

Friday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies in Aspen in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy, along with highs of 35 to 45, according to the weather service.
There’s a 30 percent chance of snow in the forecast on Friday night and a chance of snow showers on Saturday. The best chance for snow comes Saturday night and Sunday, but accumulations of only 1 inch are forecast on Sunday.
