Aspen Skiing Co. plans Upload for the Download event to share Snowmass news

Staff report

Snowmass community members and “stakeholders” are invited to attend the second annual Snowmass Upload for the Download today.

Representatives of Aspen Skiing Co., the Snowmass tourism office and East West Partners, the company overseeing the development of Snowmass Base Village, will make presentations.

The event at Elk Camp Restaurant will feature drinks, appetizers, prize giveaways and presentations focused on Snowmass issues, including the Lost Forest project, designed to boost summer business. Admission is free but an RSVP is required by emailing rsvp@aspensnowmass.com.

The Elk Camp Gondola will upload for the event from 2:25 to 2:45 p.m. Presentations will be made from 3 to 4:30 p.m., then there will be time for “mingling and conversation,” according to the invitation.

Skico hosted a similar event last year to discuss getting Snowmass Base Village back on track.

Speakers this year will include Aspen Skiing Co. President and CEO Mike Kaplan, Steve Sewell, Snowmass general manager, and Peter Santini, director of business development for Skico. Other speakers will be Rose Abello of Snowmass Tourism and Andy Gunion, managing partner of East West Snowmass.
