Aspen sets second meeting on Silver Lining Ranch
June 29, 2010
ASPEN – With the owner of the Silver Lining Ranch, which provides help for children with deadly diseases, looking to convert the property into a single family residence, Aspen City Council is grappling with a rare split zoning recommendation between city staff, which does not support it, and the Planning and Zoning Commission, which wants to foster the discussion.
The council on Monday scheduled a second reading for the proposal for July 12.
The Stillwater Ranch Open Space Homeowners Association threatened to sue the property owner, Andrea Jaeger, last year when she entered talks with the Jewish resource center Chabad about a possible sale of the property. The sale would have resulted in the property being converted to a multiuse facility, which the HOA said was against its covenants.
