Community members are invited to provide feedback and ask questions about the plan on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Rio Grande meeting room (at the former Aspen Youth Center) and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in City Council chambers at Aspen City Hall.

A committee meeting on instant runoff voting, or IRV, is scheduled Friday at noon in the Sister Cities Room in the basement of City Hall. It is open to the public.

IRV is to be implemented for the city’s spring election in May. The committee will be reviewing two proposed methods for tabulating votes and making a recommendation to the City Council, which is expected to take up the matter again on March 9.

Aspen voters decided in 2007 to require the City Council to adopt and implement instant runoff voting procedures for the election of council members and the mayor.
