Aspen schools launch carpool program

ASPEN – The Aspen School District, in partnership with the city of Aspen’s Transportation Department, is launching a new program to encourage parents to find carpool partners, to reduce traffic and parking congestion and to help keep Aspen greener with fewer vehicles on the road.

The district invites parents to visit http://www.commuterconnect.net and sign up for the free program via the School Pool link on the site. It will help parents to find carpools and receive transportation alerts and updates, and it gives participants a chance to win prizes all year long as parents log their walk, bike, bus or carpool commutes in the system.

Prizes will be provided from a variety of local supporters. The grand prize is a family trip to Denver.
