Aspen schools host Empty Bowls dinner

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – The public is invited to enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert and contribute to a good cause at the annual Empty Bowls dinner on Wednesday evening.

Students from the Aspen Community School, Aspen Middle School and Aspen Country Day School have created hundreds of ceramic bowls. For a $10 donation at the March 3 dinner, attendees can enjoy a simple dinner and take home a handmade bowl. All proceeds go to LIFT-UP, to feed hungry people in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The idea behind Empty Bowls is to remind everyone that there are always empty bowls and hungry people in the world.

Created and organized by art teachers Rae Lampe, Hilary Forsyth and Paula Ponto, the dinner runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bumps restaurant at Buttermilk Mountain.
