Aspen school gets OK to relocate
Aspen CO Colorado
ASPEN – The Aspen City Council voted unanimously Monday night to allow Aspen Country Day School to relocate to the Aspen Meadows campus for the 2012-13 school year.
The private day school, along with the Aspen Music Festival and School, requested permission to move school operations while construction is under way at the Castle Creek campus shared by Country Day and the festival. Country Day – which has 207 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade enrolled – will use all or portions of the Boettcher Building, Harris Hall and the Benedict Music Tent and will set up modular classrooms in the Paepcke Auditorium parking lot and Gillespie Street lot.
Traffic impacts were the main concern of council members. They were appeased by an extensive traffic mitigation plan as well as the amount of outreach officials from Country Day and the music festival have done with West End residents.
