Aspen Rec Center goes to the dogs

ASPEN ” The Aspen Recreation Center will close for more than a week this offseason.

The ARC will close for maintenance and cleaning from Sept. 8-16. Cleaning and maintenance will include all areas of the facility, including the Lewis Ice Arena and the James E. Moore Pool. Public skating and programming will be available at the Aspen Ice Garden in town during the Lewis closure. The Red Brick Recreation Center will remain open.

If you are a dog owner, the ARC pools will be open on the Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon to 4 p.m., prior to the shutdown, for the four-legged friends to enjoy. Bring your dog and let them enjoy a swim in the James E. Moore Pool.

Doggy day costs $5 per dog. All dogs must be registered, maintain current shots (tags and or paperwork), and be well socialized with other dogs and people. For more information, call the Aspen Recreation Center at 544-4100.
