Aspen police investigating burglary at Sashae

Staff report

Sashae Floral Arts & Gifts was burglarized sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, according to a report from store personnel to the Aspen Police Department.

Police spokeswoman Blair Weyer said an employee arrived Wednesday to open the store and found an unlocked front door. A police investigation revealed that an outside window to the store was open, but not broken. The store is located near Clark’s Market in the North Mill Station shopping area off Puppy Smith Street.

Less than $300 — money to make change for customers — was missing from the cash register, Weyer said. A video camera from a nearby business may lead to an identification or a description of a suspect, she added.

The store’s owner did not return a telephone message from The Aspen Times. No other details were available early Wednesday evening.
