Aspen offers info night on carbon monoxide

ASPEN ” The city of Aspen is hosting a carbon monoxide information night on Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Council Chambers of City Hall starting at 5:30 p.m.

Vision Security will provide a comprehensive presentation covering all aspects of carbon monoxide, including the properties and effects of CO, detector technology and placement.

Representatives from Source Gas, the natural gas provider for the Roaring Fork Valley, will be on hand to give information regarding propane and natural gas.

Officials from the Aspen Fire Protection District also will be providing information, and local government officials will be available to answer questions about the new CO monitor ordinances.

The city of Aspen and Pitkin County recently enacted rules to require CO detectors in or within earshot of every sleeping area.
