Aspen Mountain, Snowmass to get ski and snowboard season going early
After recent snowstorms brought nearly two feet of fresh snow and ideal snowmaking temperatures, Aspen Mountain and Snowmass are set to open for the 2024-25 season on Saturday, Nov. 23, five days ahead of schedule, according to a press release.
Further information on available terrain, lift operations, and lift ticket pricing will be released next week in anticipation of Opening Day.
“We’re thrilled to kick off another season early, thanks to our dedicated teams and some fantastic early snow,” said Geoff Buchheister, CEO of Aspen Skiing Company, in the press release.
Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are slated to open on Dec. 14.
Uphilling advisory
With teams actively preparing for the season, uphilling on Aspen Mountain will be closed from Nov. 18-23, according to the press release.
Once the mountains open, an uphill pass will be required for those heading uphill. Visitors are reminded to use designated routes, follow all mountain guidelines, be mindful of early-season conditions, and yield to snow vehicles and snowmaking equipment, according to the press release.
Check the Aspen Snowmass app for the latest updates on uphill routes and status.
