School officials filled the Basalt Middle School cafeteria with cardboard boxes and invited students and families to build something at the first annual BMS Cardboard Challenge about a week ago. At the end, there were homes, forts, an observatory and even a castle with a drawbridge — all made of cardboard and duct tape. On Monday, preschoolers got to play in the newly created buildings.
