Aspen malls kick-off event is Friday, Dec. 9

Staff report

The city of Aspen and partner Design Workshop will hold a public kick-off event for the Pedestrian Mall Improvement Project from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday by Wagner Park.

“The goal of the project kick-off event is to provide a casual opportunity for the public to get initial project information, meet members of the project team, learn about the project phases and begin collecting emails for our project newsletters and public engagement opportunities,” said Tim Thompson, capital asset manager for the city and project team lead.

The Pedestrian Mall Improvement Project includes 130,000 square feet on the Hyman, Mill, Cooper and Galena outdoor pedestrian malls. The project will be implemented in five phases, each involving public input. The first two phases will be underway through December 2017.
