Aspen launches monthly public newsletter

The city of Aspen has announced a monthly newsletter aimed at providing the public with updates on city operations, decisions, and community initiatives.

“The city is committed to enhancing transparency and communication with the community,” said Interim City Manager Pete Strecker in a press release. “This newsletter is intended to provide timely and relevant information to community members regarding the city’s work and priorities.”

The newsletter will serve as a central source of information, according to the release. Topics will include:



  • Project and planning updates — Information on new developments, infrastructure projects, and neighborhood planning efforts
  • City initiatives — Updates on programs and policies designed to advance City Council’s strategic goals in line with the city’s values of stewardship, partnership, innovation, and service
  • Budget and financial information — Updates on how city funds are allocated and used
  • City Council highlights — Summaries of recent meetings and key policy decisions
  • Public safety updates — Information from police, fire, and emergency services on matters affecting the community
  • Community events and engagement opportunities — Notices of upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to participate in local government
