The Aspen Jewish Community Center on July 13 will host five distinguished American, Palestinian and Israeli diplomats — with decades of experience negotiating Palestinian-Israeli and Middle-East issues — to address the critical question “Is Peace Possible?”
The diplomats are:
Dr. Samih Abid
Hon. Daniel C. Kurtzer
Nidal Foqaha
Hon. Dr. Yosef “Yossi” Beilin
Hon. Dan Meridor
The goal of the conference will be to identify what Israelis and Palestinians are most likely to be able to agree upon in the present climate and build upon those areas of agreement to offer a realistic framework for a peace agreement. Borders, settlements, Jerusalem, right of return, recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, where is there agreement.
“Is Peace Possible?” Yes. The question is how to get there. Israelis and the Palestinians must find a way out of the black box of no progress. Time is not on their side.
