Aspen Institute transportation series resumes Tuesday
The Aspen Institute will present transportation expert Greg Rucks as the fifth speaker in its Community Forum on Transportation and Mobility series. The event takes place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wheeler Opera House.
The talk is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
Rucks is a principal in Rocky Mountain Institute’s Q Practice in Basalt.
Rucks will address the technological innovations that are providing cost-effective, low-carbon solutions to traffic and congestion issues in other cities as well as the pilot program he’s managing in Austin, and how the Roaring Fork Valley could implement some of these solutions.
The speaker series takes place in tandem with the work of the Community Forum on Transportation and Mobility Taskforce, which is made up of community leaders who are undergoing a community-based process to develop an overall vision for Aspen and the upper Roaring Fork Valley in 20 years.
