ASPEN The Aspen Institute will co-present two events in March in its Arts & Ideas series.In collaboration with Anderson Ranch Arts Center, the Institute will present a seminar on Art & Friendship, Wednesday through Friday, March 5-7. The seminar will feature a reading of Yasmina Rezas Tony Award-winning play Art, and two sessions of discussions of the themes raised by the play. Moderating the discussions will be Chuck Metten, an actor and former dean of the Drama School at Southern Utah University; and Jan Yager, who has written on the subject of friendship. Also joining the discussions will be Anderson Ranch president Hunter OHanian.On March 14, the Institute and Jazz Aspen Snowmass will host a panel on Jazz & Democracy. The afternoon seminar will explore jazzs democratic nature.
