Aspen hydro, library fall; Child outpolls Young

ASPEN – With early returns plus unofficial results posted on polling place doors throughout Pitkin County, it appears the proposed city of Aspen hydroelectric facility failed at the polls, as did the Pitkin County Library expansion project.

In the District 4 race for Pitkin County commissioner, Steve Child outpolled John B. Young by a healthy margin.

The city of Aspen sales tax measure to help fund the Aspen School District won approval.

In the Snowmass Town Council race, incumbent Markey Butler has won re-election. The results are too close to call for the second seat up for election among candidates Darryl Grob, Chris Jacobson and Stan Stokes.

Check back at for more definitive results from Tuesday’s election.
