Aspen Historical Society CEO Georgia Hanson retires

Georgia Hanson, chief executive officer and executive director of the Aspen Historical Society, is retiring.

For the past 10 years, Hanson has overseen the organization’s financial systems, policies and strategic planning, with the task of developing a modern brand. She has implemented adult and children’s programming, managed operations at four sites — plus the planning for a fifth — and orchestrated the celebration of the society’s 50th anniversary.

The Aspen Historical Society is hiring an executive director, who will lead outreach and development, as well as oversee operations and stewardship of four active interpretive/museum sites and a current staff of nine.
