ASPEN – The city of Aspen announced Thursday the hiring of Andrew Ernemann as its new real estate broker.

Ernemann is a broker associate with BJ Adams and Co. Real Estate.

Ernemman’s hiring comes after the city released a request for proposals in December seeking services including negotiating the purchase and disposition of real estate for affordable housing and other purposes, managing transactions, and advising staff and council on specific properties and proposals, among other duties. Ernemann was chosen from a total of eight candidates.

“Andrew is well equipped to advise the city on real estate market conditions as well as the sale or purchase of individual properties. He has many tools available to him for analysis and knows how to use those tools,” Scott Miller, capital asset director, said in a statement. “He is also skilled at presenting well in both private and public settings. He will be an effective adviser to staff and council.”

Ernemann said, “There were a number of quality brokers that applied for the job, so I’m thrilled to have been chosen. It will be a privilege to work with the city of Aspen on real estate-related matters. I’m excited to bring my background of real estate analysis and sales to the table, and anticipate providing meaningful input with regard to purchase and sale decisions as well as general real estate market updates.”

Ernemann will serve the city for one year, with two one-year renewal options.
