Aspen forecast: clouds, maybe snow

ASPEN – Aspen enjoyed a mix of sun and clouds Saturday while snow and ice hit parts of the Front Range, but a chance of snow is back in Aspen’s forecast this week.
Sunday brought gusty winds to Aspen and the surrounding high country, along with clouds and sun, followed by pleasant temperatures and sunshine on Monday. The clear skies will be short-lived.
On Tuesday, the National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of snow showers and highs of 45 to 55 in Aspen. Mostly cloudy skies and lows in the 30s are expected Tuesday night, with a 30 percent chance of snow.
Wednesday’s forecast includes a cold front moving through, with a chance of snow showers in the morning, and a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon, with highs in the 40s, according to the weather service. Show showers and clouds remain in the forecast for Wednesday night, with lows of 25 to 35.
On Thursday, the weather service is calling for partly sunny skies, but a chance for snow showers in the morning and rain/snow in the afternoon, with highs again in the 40s. A 20 percent chance of snow is predicted Thursday night with lows of 25 to 35.
Partly sunny skies are forecast Friday with highs of 45 to 55.
