ASPEN – Aspen Film has announced the dates Aspen Filmfest 2009, and a glimpse at a portion of the festival program.

The 31st annual Aspen Filmfest is set for Sept. 30-Oct. 4, with presentations at the Wheeler Opera House and Isis Theatre in Aspen, and at the Crystal Theatre in Carbondale. The festival will include American feature films, foreign-language movies, documentaries and guest appearances.

Among the films to be screened are the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner “Precious,” director Lee Daniels’ story of a teenage girl in Harlem struggling against hardship; “An Education,” a U.K. drama set in the early ’60s about a college-bound woman whose plans are sidetracked by a sophisticated older man; and “More Than a Game,” a coming-of-age basketball documentary that features the young LeBron James.
