Aspen Filmfest has added “St. Vincent,” a new film starring Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy, to its lineup. The festival runs Sept. 26 through Oct. 1, with screenings at the Wheeler Opera House, Isis Theater and Crystal Theatre.
“St. Vincent” premiered Friday at the Toronto Film Festival and will have one of its first public screenings at the Aspen Filmfest at 10 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Wheeler Opera House. It is scheduled for national release on Oct. 24. Following the premiere, Variety called the PG-13 rated movie a “refreshingly unorthodox tragicomedy.”
The film is writer-director Theodore Melfi’s feature debut.
Filmfest tickets go on sale Sept. 9 at the Wheeler Opera House box office and Carbondale’s Boomerang Coffee. They’re available online at http://www.aspenshowtix.com. Tickets for shows at the Crystal Theatre are available only at Boomerang Coffee. The full Filmfest lineup is online at http://www.aspenfilm.org.
