Aspen Fashion Week coming down the runway

ASPEN – The third annual Aspen Fashion Week will take place from March 13-17 at various downtown Aspen locations. AFW is a destination fashion event designed to showcase and market winter resort, ski and technical outerwear. The event will include daily aprs-ski fashion shows, in-store presentations, on-mountain events and late-night fashionable soires.The Aspen Community Foundation will benefit from a percentage of sales for the boutique events.Also, AFW has again partnered with FEED as the official charitable partner. Proceeds from the FEED bag will benefit the FEED Foundation, a nonprofit arm that raises money and awareness for sustainable, global food-systems interventions, like school-feeding. The week of runway events will open with JC de Castelbajac + Rossignol with JC de Castelbajac personally presenting his 2011-12 winter collection coming straight from Paris Fashion Week. In addition, the week will include runway shows by Authier, Rossignol, Dannenmann-Pure, Obermeyer, NUMBER: Lab, Burton, and more. Dannenman-Pure, new to the U.S. market, showed its collection for the first time for Aspen Fashion Week 2010 and have since opened an Aspen boutique. The Kerastase styling team led by Matthew Morris will lead the hair styling team for the shows with collaboration with FHI Heat, styling tools and their featured stylist, Neeko. Kerastase and FHI Heat will have styling and promotions all week. Heidiskis will again serve as the official ski partner of Aspen Fashion Week. Boutique events include Dannenmann, J. Crew, Ariane Zurcher Designs & Aspen Jewel Box, Theory and Performance Ski. More boutique events are being planned. Neve Designs will be showing their luxurious knitwear collection at Aspen Fashion Week for the first time. William Grant & Sons will serve as the official spirits partner of Aspen Fashion Week, whose media partners include Cond Nast Traveler, Aspen Peak, Aspen Magazine and Plum TV. Hotel partners include The Sky Hotel, St. Regis Aspen Resort, Aspen Meadows Resort, Hotel Aspen, The Molly Gibson and Frias Properties.
