Aspen Community Church to hold Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 4

Aspen Community Church will hold its Blessing of the Animals at 11 a.m. Saturday.

“St. Francis of Assisi is known as the patron saint of animals, and it is customary for churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day, which is October 4,” said Rev. Mike Nickerson, pastor at the church.

The blessing will take place on the church’s new patio, and animals of all species and faiths (and their owners) are welcomed.

Professional photographer John Kelly will be on hand to take free photographs of owners with their pets.

For more information, contact the church office at 970-925-1571.

Aspen Community Church is located at 200 E. Bleeker Street at the corner of Bleeker and Aspen Streets.
