Aspen CMC teachers honored

ASPEN ” Colorado Mountain College recently honored full-time faculty member Lorraine Miller and adjunct faculty member Eileen Hinchliffe with faculty-of-the-year awards at its Aspen campus.

Miller has taught English as a second language and developmental studies at the college for 16 years. Hinchliffe has been an adjunct fitness instructor for more than 20 years ” and has kept some students for a decade or more.

Joe Maestas, chief executive officer of Colorado Mountain College’s Aspen Campus, said he appreciated Miller’s dedication to the community beyond the campus.

“She does everything from posting fliers to speaking with individuals or groups who may need her classes,” he said.

Of Hinchliffe, Maestas said she is always finding ways to improve the quality of her teaching. She recently completed a course to become a certified personal trainer, for example.
