Aspen children’s parade set May 21
Aspen, CO Colorado
ASPEN ” Kids First will host a children’s parade from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 21. The parade will celebrate The Month of the Young Child, an awareness campaign aimed at helping the community understand how many children are in childcare in Aspen.
Kids First and its programs are funded through a .45 percent sales tax that goes toward both affordable housing and childcare.
The parade will begin at Boogie’s Diner, then head down the mall and over to the fountain in front of the Wheeler Opera House, where children will find two large mascots, cookies and water. All children are invited to participate and should meet in front of Boogie’s at 10:15 a.m. to line up for the parade.

Longhorn seniors clear final hurdles to graduate from Basalt High School
Andrew Huntsman and Ralph Smalley were chosen by the seniors to give the class address during Basalt High School’s graduation ceremony on Saturday. This had the two BHS teachers questioning the legitimacy of those diplomas they were about to hand out.
