Aspen chamber surveys members on what’s happening downtown

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is surveying members on the outdoor merchandise displays, food vending and activities the city has been allowing downtown.

The city has taken a relaxed approach to outdoor retail and restaurant activities this summer; the City Council will discuss the topic on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. and consider what the city should allow next year.

The ACRA survey asks chamber members to weigh in on issues like outdoor seating on sidewalks and malls, sandwich-board signs and temporary outdoor food vending. Respondents are asked whether what has been allowed is too much, about right or if even more should be permitted. The survey also asks whether the city should have looser regulations regarding outdoor merchandising on the weekends.
