Aspen chamber, city host annual business lunch

ASPEN – The state of the city and a 2013 economic-sustainability update will be among the feature presentations April 4 when the Aspen Chamber Resort Association and city of Aspen hold their annual springtime business luncheon at Aspen Meadows Resort.

The buffet luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Doerr-Hosier Center, followed by the presentations at 12:15 p.m. The State of the City address will be presented by city officials Steve Barwick, Chris Bendon and Randy Ready; consultant Ford Frick will present the economic-sustainability update, and County Manager Jon Peacock will offer an update on the county.

The event also will feature a prize giveaway (winners must be present to win).



Tickets to the luncheon are $40 for chamber members and $80 for nonmembers. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the chamber at 970-925-1940 and can be picked up before the luncheon at the chamber office at 425 Rio Grande Place or the day of the luncheon at the Doerr-Hosier Center.

Parking will be available in the Aspen Meadows parking garage.

Hanukkah has arrived in Aspen

Members of the valley’s Jewish community gathered at the Albright Pavilion at Aspen Meadows Thursday for their second annual menorah lighting ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge the first day of Hanukkah.
