Aspen building department makes move

ASPEN ” The City of Aspen’s building officials are moving across the street to a newly created office space at 517 E. Hopkins Ave. The new office space will open to the public on Wednesday, March 5.

Twenty-five employees from both the city’s Community Development Department as well as the Engineering Department will be housed in this space. Moving of the employees out of Aspen City Hall starts on Friday and will continue until early next week.

According to the city, from Friday, Feb. 29, to Tuesday, March 4, many functions in the building department will be closed, including walk-in appointments. Office visits will continue by appointment only, but business should continue as usual via phone, e-mail and the Internet.

City planning and zoning services will not be interrupted by the move, and inspections will also continue uninterrupted.
