Aspen Times Staff Report

The Aspen Art Museum will hold a public opening reception for its two current exhibits today from 6-8 p.m.

The Art Museum’s two current exhibits are In Edition: Prints from the Anderson Ranch Arts Center and O’Brien Graphics, which opened last week in the upper gallery, and the Aspen Valley Biennial, opening this evening in the lower gallery.

In Edition features some 30 prints made in two local printing facilities, Snowmass Village’s Anderson Ranch, and Aspen’s O’Brien Graphics. The exhibit also includes works by local artists Jody Guralnick, Kathleen Craig and James Surls.

The Aspen Valley Biennial, curated by Aspen Art Museum Executive Director Dean Sobel, features works by 12 area artists: photographers Lynn Goldsmith and Kyle Bajakian, multimedia artists Nancy Lovendahl, John Rietfors and Betty Weiss, painter Doug Olson, woodworker Gail Fredell, installation artists Sam Harvey, Brad Reed Nelson and Local 836 United We Stick, video artist Rick Magnuson and Kathleen Loe.

Both exhibits will be on display through Dec. 1. For further information, call the art museum at 925-8050.
