Bates College recently announced that Emily Bruell, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Marc J. Bruell of Carbondale and a 2014 graduate of Roaring Fork High School, made the school’s dean’s list for the fall semester ending in December. Also receiving the honor was Becca Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Howard of Snowmass and a 2015 graduate of Aspen High School.

Bates is located in Lewiston, Maine.

Alta Lewis Millard of Aspen was named to the Emerson College dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. Lewis Millard is majoring in stage and production management. The requirement to make Emerson’s dean’s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

Michael Kemp of Aspen, a freshman at Randolph-Macon Academy, earned a place on the dean’s list for the third quarter of the 2016-17 school year. Students who achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99 at Randolph-Macon Academy Upper School (grades 9 through 12) are named to the dean’s list. Michael is the son of Heather and John Kemp of Aspen. Randolph-Macon Academy, located in Front Royal, Virginia, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12.

Miami University student Ryer Gardenswartz spent the winter 2017 semester in the Czech Republic as part of a study abroad group. Gardenswartz, from Aspen, is earning a bachelor’s of arts degree and is majoring in journalism.
