Art scam goes undetected

Dear Editor:

After seeing the follow up story on Denver’s CBS 4 news and reading the local newspaper articles about the selling of questionable artwork at the Royal Street Galleries, I find it incomprehensible that the Aspen police have determined that the investigation has been thorough or complete.

Why would they declare that no charges will be filed without examining at all the available evidence? The News4 piece raises significant questions. The integrity of the art people purchase here is absolutely critical, not just for the artists, but for all the people who have invested in our art community in the past.
