Around Aspen: Old-Timers

The Old Timers party was held this year at the Inn at Aspen by the Aspen Historical Society. The annual celebration was founded many years ago by Betty and Art Pfister and Margaret Albouy and was held until this year at Buttermilk. Longtime Aspenites and former Aspenites had a great time telling stories about the “good old days” in Aspen and looking at photos of the 1970s from the Historical Society; the theme this year was the 1970s and many came outfitted in the styles of that era.

The 34th Annual Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame induction gala is planned for Saturday, Nov. 6, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Westin Westminster Hotel. The inductees this year are Horst Abraham, Jake Burton Carpenter, Ernst Constam, Harry Frampton, Trygve Myhren and Sandy Treat.

Undercurrent … I’m busy planting tulips, daffodils and iris this month because I put in a few more every fall.
