So beautiful were all the partygoers at the Les Dames d’Aspen New Year’s Ball at the St. Regis that I just had to run some more photos. Actually, I did not attend the party but my daughter, Jess Bates, with her friend, Scott Brown, attended and took the photos for me. The gala evening benefits arts organizations in Aspen.

An article with many stunning photographs titled “New Heights” appeared in the December 2010 issue of Veranda magazine. The article and many of the photos are by Carolyne Roehm and it describes a new Swedish-inspired home near Aspen for which Carolyne did the interior design. Architecture was by Allan Greenberg and Robert Schutler. This house, along with Carolyne’s own residences in New York and Connecticut, appears in her book “A Passion for Interiors” that will be published this fall by Clarkson Potter. Carolyne is frequently in Aspen.

Undercurrent … A little brown bunny lives in our neighborhood. I have seen him often in our yard. The other day he hopped around and found some kale left over from my summer garden and had a wintertime feast.
