Apathy is going to get us nowhere
To quote the wise Elie Wiesel, “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.”
Indifference is a plague upon society that infects and affects all of us. If you are for Marilyn Marks and her associates, get active and stand up for her. If you are opposed to her ideas and platforms, stand up and be active.
If you are for Obama, go for it. If you are for Romney, let it be known.
We Americans, as well as most of the world, find great happiness in indifference and then constantly complain about the status of government, persecutions, human slaughter and every other negative. We have a habit of sitting on the sidelines, mostly yawning.
Let’s all get involved and be active whether it is for a charitable organization, political philosophy, rules and regulations, or whatever needs change for the good. We are the ones who can change things that must be changed. It’s not up to the “other person.”
Start a dialogue, stay on topic and be civil.

Aspen’s dirty downtown alleys are enough of a blight that the city government is taking the initiative to clean them up this week.
