Anti-Semitic graffiti found on Aspen playground
Sue Shufro/Special to The Aspen Times
An Aspen woman at the Burlingame playground with her 7-year-old daughter discovered anti-Semitic graffiti Sunday and immediately notified police.
Sue Shufro told The Aspen Times via email that some older kids in the neighborhood had first discovered graffiti that included swastikas, an anarchy symbol and “666” and were documenting what they found.
Shufro called the Aspen Police Department and said two officers were on scene within about 10 minutes. They took photos of the vandalism and said it would be cleaned up soon, she said.
Shufro, who is Jewish, contacted leaders of the Aspen Jewish Congregation and the Denver chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. She said she had to explain to her daughter what they symbols meant and why she was so upset.
