Another section of Glenwood Canyon bike path opens

The eastern section of the Glenwood Canyon bike path between the trailhead near Dotsero to Hanging Lake was expected to open this weekend, Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Tracy Trulove said.

CDOT had previously opened the western portion of the trail from Glenwood Springs to the Shoshone rest area and boat launch. However, the section between there and Hanging Lake remains closed due to damage from the Feb. 15 rock slide that closed Interstate 70 for several days.

Repair work continues on the path as well as the highway, which is still limited to one lane in each direction. That work will continue throughout April and is expected to be completed by the first week of May.
