GLENWOOD SPRINGS – The Roaring Fork Conservancy will host its eighth annual Community River Float on June 2.

Participants will meet at 8 a.m. at Veltus Park in Glenwood Springs for a half-day float on the Roaring Fork River from Carbondale to Glenwood. Blazing Adventures provides the boats for the day of sightseeing, natural history and an after-float cookout at Veltus Park.

The event is open to the public (boaters must weigh at least 60 pounds), but space is limited, and registration is due by May 31. Go to to register. The fee is $20 for conservancy members and $30 for nonmembers.
