Annual Fryingpan River cleanup is Saturday

BASALT – The annual cleanup of the Fryingpan River will take place Saturday.

The nonprofit Roaring Fork Conservancy organizes the event to keep the river free of trash. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Volunteers should meet at Lions Park in Basalt at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for a free breakfast. They will be divided into groups that will clean one-mile sections of the river.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather. They should have gloves, long pants, a hat and sunscreen.



Prizes will be awarded for Best of Trash, Most Toxic, Most Useful and Most Unusual trash.
