Maroon Creek Club a great tennis partner

Maroon Creek Club a great tennis partner

Dear Editor:

As captain of the Aspen High School varsity tennis team, I would like to especially thank the Maroon Creek Club for letting us use their facilities not only for matches but for practices. Because of this very rainy spring season, it was particularly important for us to have the club’s beautiful inside courts to use.

They saved the day several times in providing a place for us to play other teams that have only outdoor courts, and we would have been unable to play in the stormy weather. They have been so generous to us over the years, and the tennis team so appreciates it.

Also, a shout out to our great head coach, Scott Dorias, and to all the other team coaches who gave so much of their time and support into making this such a fun season.

And last but not least, thanks to all of you who participated in the sale by taking home a piece of Hollywood or dropped by with a donation or words of encouragement. The digital campaign is making steady progress because of you and your generosity. Thanks to Sidney and Bernard Poncelet from European Antiques who donated 10 percent of their First Friday proceeds to the digital campaign. The memorabilia event raised $11,000 in sales and donations, bringing our total to $31,355 toward our goal of $70,000 by May 31.

The poster sale continues. If you were unable to attend or would like to know what’s available, email or inquire at the box office. Let’s get digital!

Thanks for all the help

Dear Editor:

I want to thank everyone valleywide who contributed to the kennel fundraiser that raised More than $17,000. I am filled with gratitude. he really special part was connecting with former clients and old friends.

Receiving the many cards with thanks and encouragement has really given me a wonderful sense of worth in the community. Also, a special thanks to those who support the kennel by buying our incredible items at the kennel or Basalt Thrift.

RJ Paddywack’s got the raffle going with their donation of a years worth of dog food and then items for raffle and silent auction came rolling in. I’m not going to mention names, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lisa Johnson did a wonderful job of organizing and getting Dr. Ben, Dr. Eileen and Alica Evans and Lisa for their wonderful presentations. Many did a lot of mass emailing and putting up fliers.

I’m still working with my lender on a loan modification, and several other options have presented themselves. At this point, I have until May 29 to meet the bank’s financial needs.

My fund account is still open at Bank of Colorado, Paddywack’s is accepting cash or checks, and checks can be mailed to Alpine Meadow Kennel 329 Holland Hills Road, Basalt, CO 81621. Anything is much appreciated.

The kennel is not out of the woods yet, but I can see some light. Thank you again for all the love and support.
